Hours & Location:
The library is open Tuesday through Saturday from 1pm to 7:30pm.   Closed on Sunday, Monday and all National Holidays. We are located in Chesterville, Ohio on the corner of State Routes 95 & 314.  To view a map of our location, click

Circulation:
Most library materials circulate for two weeks and are renewable twice by phone or in person.

  • Books ~ 2 Weeks (Renewable)

  • Music CDs ~ 2 Weeks (Renewable)

  • CD-ROMs ~ 2 Weeks (Renewable)

  • Books on Tape/CDs ~ 2 Weeks (Renewable)

  • Magazines ~ 1 Week (Renewable)

  • Leap Pads ~ 2 Weeks (Non-Renewable)

  • Scene It Games ~ 1 Week (Non-Renewable)

  • Videos & DVDs-Children's and Entertainment ~ 7 Days (Non-Renewable)

  • Videos & DVDs- Educational ~ 14 Days (Non-Renewable)

A book drop is located by the front entrance and may be used to return materials (except CDs, DVDs, CD-ROMs, Leap Pads & Scene It Game) when library is closed.

Library materials include best sellers, large prints, popular paperbacks, junior, young adult and adult series, area newspapers, over 140 magazines, more than 900 audio cassettes, over 2000 videos & DVDs, plus... large adult, junior and easy reading book collections.

We also have, available for your in-library usage, a large selection of reference material. These items include:

Encyclopedias
Highland High School Yearbooks
Morrow County Historical Documents and Books
and many other items

The charge for lost or damaged items will be the cost of replacement plus a 10% processing fee.

Library materials will be denied to patrons with lost, damaged or over-due items.

Video & DVD Policy:
DVDs and Videos may not be renewed and they cannot be reserved.

Adults - Limit 4 per patron
*Children thru age 17 - Limit 2 per patron

*Patrons under eighteen may only check these items out with a pre-signed parental/guardian consent form.

Children's Programs:
 

  • Animal Crackers:
    ***Due to budget issues, this program has been canceled until further notice.***

    Animal Crackers is a storytime for little ones and their adults. We'll have
    stories, songs, rhythm & rhyme, finger plays and lots of fun!! This interactive storytime is for all little ones 18 months to 3 years old, along with their adult companion. Come have fun, play, learn and relax!
    This event takes place at the Marengo Methodist Church, Wednesdays at 11:15am.


  • Every Child Ready to Read Story-time:
    Based on current research that show children who learn six critical pre-reading skills before they start kindergarten become better readers.  This Story-time teaches parents and caregivers about these six skills and how to develop them in their children from birth to age five.  The story-time is run by Miss Ruby, a retired first grade teacher who has attended three days of intensive training to implement this statewide initiative.

    TThis story-time is for all children ages 3-5 years old, Wednesdays at 1:00pm.
     

  • Summer Reading Program:

    Summer Reading Programs are held each year with activities and reading promotions each week. All patrons are eligible.

    Adult Programs:

    Senior Potluck Luncheon:

    Senior's Potluck Luncheon is held each third Tuesday of the month at 12:00 noon. Seniors enjoy entertainment or informational programs following the luncheon. All seniors are invited to enjoy this fellowship.

    Gifts to the Library:

    • Monetary gifts are accepted and will be used according to the donor's request.

    • Gift books are always welcome, but the library reserves the right to determine how they will be used.

    • Memorial books are encouraged. A book-plate noting the honoree and donor will be placed in the book.

    Community Room:
    The library community room is available for public use at no charge. Patron
    must agree to all terms of the
    Community Room Policy. Reservation forms are available at the circulation desk and at the link above. If using the link, fill in the appropriate information, print the form, sign and bring to the circulation desk at the library, or fax to 419-768-2249. The community room is only available for use when the library is open.

    Library Cards: All Ohio Residents are eligible for library service.  You may register free of charge by completing the required form.  The signature of a parent or legal guardian is required for all patrons 15 and under.  Replacement library cards are available for a cost of $1.00.

    Responsibility of Library Card Holders:

    • Presenting card when checking out materials or accessing library computers.

    • All material selected or borrowed with card, including choice of materials.

    • Information found on Internet.

    • Charges for late, lost or damaged materials.

    • Notification of loss of card, or change of phone, name and/or address.

    • Not lending the card to others.

    • Complying with all library policies.

    • The responsibility for a minor, rests with the parent or guardian.
